The Sudden Medical Bills
Cancer is a major financial disaster. No one coaches you before you get sick on how to manage disability filings from a hospital bed, or how to manage the endless surge of medical bills that seem to come from everywhere once you are released. In order to even GET disability, you have to get your doctor and your bosses to sign papers before submittal. Hard to do under emergency circumstances! It really helps to have insurance, but if you don't, doctors aren't so inclined to sign off on disability because you are not buying their chemo or radiation products. Disability itself (only 2 months allotted to me, including the 3 week surgery time!) pays a very low percentage of your paycheck. Though I returned to work immediately after hospitalization, it took four months after hospitalization just to get my mortgage payments back on track. I was forced into taking on 3 jobs to manage forward, while healing from two surgeries. There was NO MONEY to even begin to tackle my portion of the hospital medical and lab bills for the surgery!
Holistic VS Allopathic
Refusing chemotherapy due to misgivings I have about introducing man-made chemicals into an organic physical form, I found myself seeking natural ways to heal. For ANYONE going through cancer or other dis-ease challenges, the emergency medical expenses are enough to cripple you alone. Then consider all the additional expenses for hiring 'healing facilities and practitioners' after the fact, while then purchasing expensive and recommended supplements to help you holistically heal your illness! Many holistic practitioners are NOT covered by insurance and most of them now just charge upfront. Consultant fees and service programs generally start at the $2,500.00 range. The now popular holistic cancer protocol of vitamin C drips starts at $150.00 per, and can go up to $300.00 per, causing this once or twice a week service to exceed the cost of chemo treatments. If you look up manufacturer prices for 250ml of the injectable water required to administer the C drip, it costs about $1.00 per pack with a retail price of around $6.99 for the average consumer. Who's kidding who? The healing industry has become incorrigible regarding price gouging of the sick, in both the Allopathic and Holistic industries!
Effecting Positive Change
Am I angry, outraged, disappointed and sometimes scared? You bet! It's scary trying to heal yourself on holistic bits and pieces of info found on the internet, all alone. I paid for cat scans and ultra sounds and NOT ONE of many doctors I paid for in consultation fees would even LOOK at my results to review them with me. There seems to be more concern about acquiring you as a 'supplement paying client', according to which products they are associated with, than really examining your body and helping you nutritionally according to your specific body type. One major [SK] cancer center doctor, (you figure out the initials) stated I had no chance without chemo and told me I had no ability to qualify for experimental treatments due to my 'markers', whatever that was. She had no time to explain that to me nor would she review my test results when I would not buy her chemo plan. As I was uninsured, I was basically useless to her. If you choose to do anything outside of the chemo system, you are on your own! The holistic industry is not much better. What was originally orchestrated to be a an Earth oriented and integral healing industry is turning into the same circus the Allopathic world has become; driven by product sales.
These conditions for the masses have GOT to change. Finally, not getting any stable or sound help from multiple doctors I'd met with, I decided to self-educate and took a naturopathic healing course last year. It has been 6 months of hard study around my jobs. I was left on my own to fully change my eating habits, purchase the necessary supplements and squeeze in recommended exercise. Managing three jobs after hospitalization, there were simply too many days of complete mental and physical exhaustion in a week, that were not conductive to a sound healing process. And not being able to receive appropriate disability because your Allopathic doctors don't want to risk liability if you defy the chemo bid is a pure CRIME in and of itself. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the 'first do no harm' doctors oath.

Current Circumstances & Solutions
Though through time I managed to whittle three jobs into one F/T non-insured position finally, I was abruptly laid off in December 2017 via a company restructure. I still manage the remaining rehabbed felines, while searching out holistic healing modalities for my illness. But in May my lungs became seriously inflamed with cancer and breathing has become a serious challenge. In attempt to save the past 20 years worth of metaphysical research work I have done with the Starkitty Project and to save the Starkitty Haven, I am considering launching fund-raising project. Of late however, I have become too sick to orchestrate that. Below is a button to help me through my worst days ever. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Currently I am now channeling with my long time 'ethereal guides' with regards to exactly what supplements I should be taking. I will post these results on a newly developing website (TBA).
